it's been a food-filled movie week!

tonight we went to the local theatre to see "food, inc." (after eating at a local restaurant, in case we never wanted to eat out again after watching it. we plan ahead.)

it's been a long while since a documentary actually inspired change in me, but oh boy, this one did. the tagline, "you'll never look at dinner the same way," is not even a little bit false. it lifts the veil covering the eyes of the american consumer regarding the way their food is grown, shipped and chemically altered. not only is most of the food sold just plain unhealthy, it is also causing millions of cases of diabetes and even death. there are huge issues in the food industry that i don't even know how to address here. please watch this film!

what can we do?
buy locally and organic
grow a garden
cast a vote at the grocery store with the food you buy

my mama and I are obsessed with organic. If you have to wash it, it ain't worth eatin.

That said, just think of all that lovely cafeteria food we'll be consuming for the next, oh, four months?
