the sharper your knife, the less you cry

- beautiful, wonderful, made me want to cook and eat and eat and eat and live in paris. like i needed any more reason to do any of those things. this book actually made me laugh out loud, which is very rare for a book.

the girl with the pearl earring

- pretty good! we had just learned about vermeer in art history, so it was a nice little elaboration on that.

the jane austen book club

- also fairly good! a fun read with interesting characters. i liked it better than the movie (although the movie does have hugh dancy...)
