the drive down was paused only for lunch at little america and a gas stop somewhere. the drive by green river filled the car with lines like "hi mirage fievel." "hi mirage tiger." we discovered that I really like driving fast, and that even boys in cars with longhorns on the front can't beat me. whoops.
the denver experience cannot be beat, but for now I'm staying on the driving parts....
we decided to go home through the mountains for a change of scenery. first mistake.
after being graciously led onto the freeway, we started listening to the gps. second mistake. it wanted us to go through wyoming again.
we went the wrong way. third. duh.
turned around, got on the right road. it was snowing.
then for some reason, we took the bottom route on this map below instead of staying on the freeway....

do you see that road up from rifle? mhm, that's where we went. we saw lots of cows (in the road), five other cars, four huge creepster factory-building-things, and one lone man on a cliff in the approximately 3 hours we were on that 2 lane road in the middle of nowhere. life experience indeed.
after 14 hours of driving, we finally made the predicted 8 hour trip.
